Blue Card for Golf

There has been a great response to our launch, last month, of the Blue Card for Golf concept

Please keep your ideas coming in, as this helps to refine the product to suit more people.

Blue Card for Golf is not a teaching method or a style, but the opportunity for golfers to be declared as competent, once they have gone through and passed the course. This does NOT mean that teaching styles have to be identical, or even similar. Blue Card offers a syllabus that any competent PGA professional can follow, but the teaching style and much of the content will depend on the individual instructor.

  • A ten week course.
  • 4 people maximum in each group.
  • 8 – 1 hour lessons.
  • 9 holes accompanied with a PGA professional.
  • 9 hole exam with multiple choice test.
  • Each lesson contains a 10-15 minute session covering etiquette, rules, scoring formats and the history of the game.
  • A Blue Card pack is issued to each golfer outlining the topics to be covered in each week. Basic etiquette, rules, history of the game and scoring formats.
  • Golfers may wish to take additional lessons in between Blue Card sessions and if they are not developing fast enough this will be encouraged by their professional.

The 10th session is the exam, which includes;
A multiple-choice paper which can be downloaded from the Blue Card website the morning before the exam (these tests are rotational and no two tests will be the same).

This new concept will be rolled out to golf centres and ranges over the coming months. It is ideal for the new golfer as he/she will be competent in all aspects of golf, it will also generate more revenue for the centres and more revenue for the PGA professionals. The Golf industry needs more new golfers coming into the game and Blue Card for Golf offers the solution to do this. More details in next month’s GRN. Please let us have your thoughts and ideas regarding this new concept either by phone on 01580 893899, by email info@golfrangenews.org or by fax on 01580 893373. We would be delighted to hear your views.
