OGRO - Two Years On

OGRO celebrates its second anniversary this month

With our first European Conference last year and the second coming up in November

plus all the other activities it has been an exceptionally busy two years. It is very gratifying that in such a short time OGRO has received so much support from range owners and established itself as a major voice with the golf range industry.

Producing three publications in the first six months of 2004 has been a challenge. The Golf Range Design Guide, produced in partnership with PGA Design Consulting, has already been in great demand and will prove invaluable to anyone considering making an investment in the range industry. The Practice Facilities Guide, again with PGA DC and commissioned by the EGU, will be going out to all the EGU affiliated golf clubs in England and Wales. Our first publication, the Golf Range User Survey, in partnership with Sports Marketing Surveys, has provided invaluable information to range owners and operators about their customer profile and will help any golf range focus their business in the most profitable way.

We are very grateful for the support that we receive from our commercial Partners, all of whom offer a range of benefits to OGRO members. An outstanding example are the 120 range owners who have benefited by several thousand pounds from the new standards brought to range based advertising by our media partner, Cooler Media.

This year we have introduced a new class of membership, OGRO Premium Membership. While all range owners will continue to benefit from our standard membership at no charge many have taken up the Premium option. We will continue to add value to the Premium Membership scheme and look forward to welcoming new members.
